Social Studies Council

​​​​​The Social Studies Council sessions are designed to keep local district personnel on top of information and changes promulgated by the U.S. Department of Education and the Michigan Department of Education for social studies. In addition to an emphasis on current research in the field of social studies and content literacy, these meetings are designed to foster collaboration among districts working on similar initiatives.  The council also serves as a referent group for issues in social studies education by bringing local concerns and initiatives to the county level.
