Special Education

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Oakland Schools Department of Special Education is dedicated to providing leadership and services that strengthen the capacity of schools, families and communities to support the success of students with and individualized education program (IEP).

School districts of Oakland County provide special education services and programs for approximately 21,000 students identified as eligible for special education. Services of the Oakland Schools Intermediate School District include, but are not limited to, consultation and instruction of stude​nts with low incidence disabilities, audiological evaluations, com​pliance, technical assistance, access to assistive technology, and professional learning opportunities. All programs for students with disabilities in Oakland County are designed and operated by local districts, including Programs for All (center programs).  ​

School Districts served by Oakland Schools (OS) may use this catalog and form to request Professional Learning (PL) provided at a district site by the OS Special Education Department.​
